Florentines

Looking for an easy and delicious cookie? Try these low carb Florentines that will please anyone who ever liked chocolate and orange together!

As I lately have a little time, I was surfing on the internet last week. Trying to get new, interesting thoughts, inspirational recipes that I have never tried before, to amaze my family with. Looking for quite some time yet could not find lots of interesting things. Just before I wanted to give up on it, I came upon this yummy and easy dessert simply by chance on Suncakemom. It looked so mouth-watering on its pic, it required fast actions.

It had been not so difficult to imagine how it is made, how it tastes and just how much my hubby might enjoy it. Mind you, it is very simple to impress him in terms of desserts. Yes, I am a lucky one. Or possibly he is.Anyway, I visited the site and followed the precise instuctions that have been combined with nice pictures of the task. It really makes life rather easy. I could imagine that it’s a slight effort to shoot photos in the middle of cooking in the kitchen as you normally have sticky hands thus i seriously appreciate the time and effort she put in for making this post .

With that said I’m empowered to present my own dishes in a similar way. Appreciate your the idea.

I had been tweaking the original recipe create it for the taste of my loved ones. I’ve got to mention that it was a great outcome. They enjoyed the flavour, the thickness and loved having a treat like this during a stressful workweek. They basically asked for even more, a lot more. Thus the next occasion I’m not going to make the same mistake. I am gonna twin the quantity .

You can find the original Florentine Biscuit at SunCakeMom

Grind half of the almonds finely and the other half coarsely.

Put butter and cream in a saucepan to heat it up with the vanilla extract and sweetener.

Pour almond and orange zest and mix them with the other ingredients in the saucepan on low heat.

Preheat the oven to 350°F / 180°C.

Prepare tray with baking paper.

With a spoon put walnut size balls on the tray.

Flatten them with a fork.

Put the tray with the cookies in the preheated oven for about 10 – 15 minutes (depending on the oven).

Take them out as soon as it starts to get a golden brown color.

Place cookies on a cooling rack to cool down with the help of a sharp flat tool. Right now the cookies are a bit brittle so mind them with care. They are supposed to hold together better over time and under some chocolate.

Melt chocolate.

Pour chocolate on top of the cookies.

Keep them in a cool place until chocolate becomes solid again.
